Holy Week schedule (Please know you are invited and welcome to join us for any and all of these services. All services are held in the 2nd Ave. UMC sanctuary unless otherwise noted.)
Maundy Thursday- We are having a traditional service at 7 PM. This service will include hymns, prayer, scripture, Communion, and a few other amazing things you will need to come and see.
Good Friday at 12 PM-We will be worshiping at Fairview UMC near the Altoona Hospital.
Good Friday at 7 PM- This contemporary service will be held in the 2nd Ave. sanctuary with contemporary songs, scripture, and a somber reminder of the agony of the Cross.
Easter Sunrise at 7 AM-You will be the first to come to the tomb and experience the power and joy of finding that Jesus is not there!
Easter at 9:30 AM-As one body we will worship the goodness and power of the resurrected Jesus at this combined service held in the sanctuary.

Second Ave. United Methodist Church is a place for all people. We invite you to come worship with us, walk through life together with us, and together may we continue to grow in the knowledge and likeness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you do need more specifics about visiting 2nd Ave. Church please continue reading below.
If you are thinking of visiting us, there is plenty of parking in our four parking lots. Worship leaders will not publicly introduce you as a visitor or require you to speak to the congregation. We won’t ask you to participate in singing or prayers – unless you wish to. You may sit wherever you wish and just observe -whatever is most comfortable for you. We will welcome you quietly and with God’s love.
Our Sunday morning worship times last about an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes. If you are thinking of visiting us, we encourage you to come as you are. There is no dress code, please dress comfortably.
