Creating Community

We believe that seekers and believers are both deeply loved by God, and therefore they are deeply loved by us. The following community-building opportunities exist for the benefit of both those inside the church and those outside of it as well. For any opportunities you may be interested in, please contact the church office.

The ROCK (Reaching Out for Christ's Kids) - This after school program meets each Wednesday night from 4:30PM-7:00PM during the school year. This program has grown tremendously over the years and serves roughly 60-75 kids each week in K-12th grades. The R.O.C.K. provides recreation, learning, nutritional opportunities and fun.
Youth Ministry visit the YOUTH calendar for current events - Our youth are important. We have a committed team of youth counselors who meet each Sunday night from 6-8PM for times of recreation, prayer, learning, and sharing. Our youth also share in regular retreats, camping experiences, special service projects, and recreational opportunities.

Block Party - Each August we organize a community-wide block party. This event requires the help of the entire church body as it involves a yard sale, food for sale, baked goods sale, street games, silent auctions, and much much more.
Nurture and Senior Services - Each week various opportunities exist for our seniors, including a weekly Wednesday morning Bible study, Wednesday morning breakfast gatherings, and Thursday morning fellowship opportunities. We also encourage visitation teams for shut-ins, hospital patients, and those in need. Additionally, we provide meals to anyone in need, whether health-related or distress-related.
Witness/Outreach - This ministry team focuses on meeting, loving, and relating to our neighbors in meaningful ways. We attempt to share Christ through meaningful relationships.
Community Restoration - This team of individuals explores all of the "hands on" opportunities that can occur in our immediate community. Whether fix-up projects, clean-up projects, resource sharing, tutoring sessions, or simply meeting with our neighbors, this team helps us to live out Jesus in tangible ways with those who need a touch of Christ's love.
Lenten Dinners - Each Lenten season the church shares in Lenten dinners on Friday nights from 4:30PM-7PM. These dinners have become a local phenomenon in which hundreds of people from the community and the church come together to fellowship and to raise financial support our youth ministry.

Volley Ball - Tuesday during the fall and winter months in the gymnasium. Check with the church office for additional dates and details.
Basketball - Saturday mornings at 8am in the church gymnasium.
Softball - Join or support your Second Avenue team in the local area church league.
